Observing and Painting Nature

Nature and beauty seem to go hand in hand.  By showing students the wonder of nature we can help them appreciate our Earth. Students in our Pre-K program are learning about famous artist Georgia O'Keefe and how she studied nature for inspiration for her art.

They are reading about her, and have watched a youtube video about her art.  They then studied and discussed flowers they brought in and all the shapes they found them in.  Then they made sketches and created watercolor nature prints.

The Pre-K Art Show will be held during Earth Week at our school in April 2012.
