Lifetime nutrition and wellness

This is a class offered on campus that identifies the needs of students to better understand the world of food. Eating healthy is a simple process of making informed decisions and practicing the healthy eating habits discussed in the class. The students work on projects, keep food journals, work on labs that cover recipe execution, have sample labs in which the class identifies different foods and label them, reading food labels, understanding the facts about nutrition and the science involved. It is a yearlong class that helps students to progress to the culinary arts class or to earn college credit and gain some insight for living a healthier life.
