Green Hour Play
By:
Being outside, breathing fresh air and being active is an important part of being healthy. Sitting too much is a no-no! We challenged our students to spend at least one hour each day playing outside. They could play games, ride bikes, take walks, visit parks, lakes and just enjoy nature.
They record the minutes and hours they play outside every day on a monthly calendar. At the end of the month, the minutes and hours are added up and the calendar is turned in to the teacher. The number of hours students spend Getting Unplugged are added to the number of hours for GREEN HOUR Play. The total number of hours Kramer Colts are working toward being as healthy as possible is posted on a bulletin board in the hallway by the gym.
The total number of hours spent getting fit for students in Prek-5th are as follow:
January 1,522 hours
February 2,318 hours
March 3,213 hours
April 4,005 hours
