Veggie Gardens

Our first garden bed was built 3 years ago with the help of a small team of parents and our principal.   The gardening club turned it into a square foot garden that was used for 2 years.  Last summer and Eagle Scout wanted to build gardens for his project, and he came and built us 3 more beds.  The gardening club maintains the gardens with students helping out before school 2/week and a large group meeting 1/month.  This year we also harvested and made our mid-year and end-of-year feasts w/ food from the garden, and the students harvest seeds so they can plant lettuce and cilantro at their homes next fall.  The 4th grade students are begging to be able to stay in gardening club in 5th grade, so we are trying to get that set for next year
