Health Lesson: Exercising is good for your body in several different ways. For one, it burns calories, which burns fat, so you will lose weight when you exercise hard enough. Also, exercising helps regulate your mood. Studies show that active and healthy people are happier. Active people are also more productive at work and school, because when you are healthy (or not sick) you do not have to take sick days off and you will pay more attention to your work. When you exercise, your body makes good cholesterol, which makes your blood flow easier, thus eliminating many diseases, like many kinds of cancer and cardiovascular diseases. Exercising also increases confidence, because you feel better about your body when you have tried your best to make it look the best that it can be.
Here is a chart displaying calorie burning for everyday activities, for the case of a 150-pound woman.
