Reaping the Benefits!

The results were fabulous.  The students have been studying sustainability all year long.  We have learned about water conservation and taking care of our environment.  We planned our school garden and actually have been able to take an unused space and turn it into a learning environment. The students have really taken ownership in their community garden.  We were able to invite students and teachers in the whole school to come by on Earth day and plant vegetables, herbs, flowering plants for our butterfly garden and a fruit tree.   We were even awarded a local STEM award to help finish our goal and add benches, buy tools, and make it a place inviting to all. A place where students can observe, respect, appreciate and just enjoy nature. Students were able to taste fruits and vegetables from their first harvest!
