Caterpillar discovery

Students in Kinder through 2nd grade investigated,drew and recorded some of the unique stages that insects undergo during their life cycle. They read a book about the life cycle of a butterfly. They observed and discussed the life clycle looking at photos and real live catepillars, cacoons and butterflies. They learned the words to a rhyme on the National Wildlife Federation website about Caterpillars and learned the action of the hands by observing the eco-teacher modeling. Finally the students participated in the Caterpillar Finger Play.
