Butterfly & California Native Garden

By:

Spring of 2011, a group of volunteers from the community and the school prepared the west end of the garden for a California Native garden.[image] Prepping California native gardenThis part of the garden also included plants favored by butterflies. In one year's time, the plants have grown in and provided a habitat for many creatures that our students have been able to observe. Butterflies, hummingbirds, June beetles, ladybugs, various birds, bees and a number of other life forms now inhabit our garden. Many of the beneficial insects have been busy taking care of our vegetable garden pests, as well as pollinating our fruit trees, veggies, fruit and flowers.
