California agriculture is a huge resource to the State of California's economy. Throughout the year, while Mitchell gardeners are growing their own fruits and vegetables, this allows us the opportunity to talk about the many commodities that come from our fine State. To help bring this concept to life, The Dairy Council of California came to visit our school along with Buttercup and Monterey Jack. The students learned about milking cows, how to milk a cow, their size and weight, the nutritional value in drinking milk and milk farm production. Petting Monterey Jack at the end of the visit was definitely a highlight!
