Earth Day is Every Day for Kindergarten

By:

Kindergarten students were major participants in the school Earth Day program on April 24th.  They sang songs about reuse, recycle, and reduce.  Everyone loved the hats they made of newspaper!

Signs next to classroom light switches suddenly appeared.  Kindergarten made the signs to remind students and teachers to turn off the lights when they are not needed.

Kindergarten recycles zip lock bags.  They melted down worn crayons into muffin tins to make “recycled crayons.”  Using milk cartons from lunch, the students made bird house feeders.  Students have a system in the room for using the front and back of paper and using construction paper sheets conservatively.
