Inner Space Caverns Timmerman Adventure
Timmerman is fortunate to have a natural wonder in our backyard. Inner Space Cavern is located in Georgetown, Texas on the outskirts of the
beautiful Texas Hill Country, just outside of Pflugerville. Our first adventure was this year with our fifth graders in which every student walked away with a hands-on learning experience and memories of a lifetime. This experience brought our school work and books to life. Students made connections and could relate learning materials to real-life exploration.
This limestone cavern allowed our students to discover beautiful examples of nature’s perfect artwork such as “The Flowing Stone of Time”, the mysterious “Lake of the Moon” and the intricate “Soda Straw Balcony”. Among the amazing variety of formations found within the cavern you will see beautiful helictites, ancient flowstones, and giant columns. (source:http://www.myinnerspacecavern.com/about_us.php)
This is just one fabulous picture of the many formations students viewed throughout the adventure!
We were fortunate enough to see a "chicken nugget" bat! These little creatures are such a sight to see!
This is a close up of formations. Some of us were lucky and experienced a "kiss" from the cave in which a drop of water landed on our head!
