School Energy Audit
By:
A survey was conducted through Monkey Survey - a survery software & questionnaire tool. We asked the staff of Terence C. Reilly to answer some questions regarding their energy consumption activities. Our purpose in conducting this survey was to assess our schools present behavior and thinking in regards to energy conservation. Below is a summary of our findings:
We found that a large part of our staff care about energy conservation and are active in their efforts to promote and conserve energy. Even with these active attempts to conserve energy, as evidenced by our data, we as a school are not reaching our full potential. At present, less than 50% of our staff are taking active measures to reduce the amount of energy consumption. Our data does suggest that there are many staff members who take active measures to ensure they are conserving energy in any way they can. This data we have collected will serve as a baseline as we proceed to make improvements as a school to conserve energy. Our next steps will be to take the efforts of our staff, who presently are taking more active measures, and expand. We will bring a greater awareness and value to energy conservation and its long lasting effects both for our children and environment.
We plan to:
- Conduct a power off campaign, to ensure all staff are turning off lights and all other power consuming products when they are not in use.
- Create an Energy Conservation Awareness Program, where we will take our baseline and share with the staff the impact our school is making and the energy wastes that could be improved.
- Conduct on going analysis of energy conservation in our school, as we continue to make improvements.
Together we will do our part to provide a healthier and happier environment for our students and community.
