Waste Free Lunch and Snack Week

By:

We held our second annual Waste Free Lunch and Snack Week during Earth Week, April 16-20, 2012 to help reduce our school’s waste and educate our students about their environmental impact. During the week, students were encouraged to bring reusable lunch bags, water bottles, food containers, cloth napkins, washable utensils, and natural snacks such as fruits and vegetables. This event was part of our Earth Week activities and our “Reduce your Waste Challenge”. (Please see our Earth Week at Willis Lane posting for more information.) We got the word out about the week by sending home flyers, posting information in our newsletter, and calling attention the event on our morning announcements.
