The Bird Bath!

We are putting the finishing touches on our mosaic bird bath which features tiles made by our 5th grade students when they were in 4th! The insects, flowers and leaves were inspired by native species. They created them with white clay, they were fired over the summer, then glazed this fall (with a little artistic license!), and finally installed on the bird bath which will be on exhibit this week in the front office. As soon as the school year ends, and all students have had a chance to observe their handiwork, the bird bath will be installed in the Bulldog Butterfly Garden.

We had lots of assistance from our awesome 5th graders, some who spent extra time and effort in the studio to complete this collaborative work of art. It is appreciated! Thank you, E-Time Crew and 5th grade volunteers.

Next year, we will create another to donate to Relay for Life from our school. This year's 4th graders can't wait to create and donate!
