Fruits of Our Labor

The Green Team is working every Wednesday at the Staircase Gardens between 1 - 4 p.m.  We sometimes start in room 129, where we share the fruits of our labor.  We recently shared Pasta with Pesto made with our school-grown basil and rosemary.  We also shared tastes of our first ripe green bell peppers and tomatoes.  It was all delicious.

The sunflowers and corn are getting so high that we have begun staking them.  In a recent storm, part of a corn stalk fell over.  The neighborhood is being wonderful and saving the ripened vegetables and herbs for our students and their parents to enjoy.

The students are also improving the Staircase Flower Garden.  

Physical Fitness - Improving Our Upper Bodies and Turning the Compost Pile.  The compost pile/leaf mold is being turned.  We are using some of it for mulch, but it has to be aerated.
