Nature and Non-fiction

                                                                            On October 2, 2012 we had a very special visitor. Lola Schaefer is a famous children's author who has written more than 250 books for children including non-fiction, books about nature, picture books, easy readers, novelty books, classroom books and informational texts. Ms. Schaefer met with  all of our students Kinder through 5th and engaged them in conversations about nature, the importance of conservation, and how each one of us can be active as responsible global citizens. Ms. Schaefer also ate lunch with a small group of students, answering questions about her writing process and how the natural environment has influenced her life.
