Outdoor Scavenger Hunt and Trask Pick-Up
By:
While walking around our campus I noticed lots of little pieces littering the ground. It wasn’t anything large and mostly unnoticeable unless you were looking for it. I decided the best way to get this cleaned up was to ask our entire school for help. While all students were not able to participate the majority of our advisory classes came together one warm November afternoon for a scavenger hunt and trash pick-up. Each advisory class was given a clip board with the scavenger hunt and a bag and gloves for trash. They were to find items outside beginning with each letter of the alphabet and then pick up as much trash as possible to collect points. This activity coincided with Native American History Month so before beginning our scavenger hunt we discussed the importance of spending preserving the outdoors for the enjoyment of all. The students really enjoyed being outside and the competition of the scavenger hunt. They were surprised about the amount of trash we collected and asked if we could do it again soon! I attached a few of the winning scavenger hunt pages.
