Mangrove project

Based on  student interest, G3, the middle school environmental club decided to start a small scale mangrove restoration project. Mangrove seeds were collected by the teacher and students planted and are watering their mangroves.  One club member researched and presented  power point slides explaining the importance of mangroves in the ecosystem, and how to plant them.  The mangrove plants have leafed out and will be transplanted in the spring of 2013 in conjucntion with the Sarasota Bay Estuary Program.
