Fit & Healthy

By:

Alex is a young girl who wants to go down the healthy track early in life so she does not have to pay negative consequences in the future! She has hired a personal trainer, Coach Grooves, who instructs her through each task. Help Alex meet her goal for a healthy lifestyle by completing each task she faces in the process of training. Complete an obstacle course within fifteen seconds, use healthy foods to keep you energized, and resist evil temptations such as peer pressure and junk food in order to complete the baby steps of a healthy life style!

The objective of the game varies depending on the level. The first objective you face is to get from one point of the level to the other under the certain time limit. You must complete the level before the time goes out. The second level is a race against time as well, but in a different way. You must complete the course before your enegry runs out, using healthy foods such as fruits and vegetables in order to keep yourself energized long enough to meet your goal. The objective of the third level is a combination of the previous two, you must keep your enegry up with the aide of healthy food as well as meet the end of the course within a time limit, but you also have to stay alive being offered enegeries (temptations) that may hault you from the goal in order to reach the end of the training season (game).

Eating healthy and excercising is easy to do, but you have to get started and work for it first. As time goes on it will become a routine. At times we are weak and it is hard to resist temptations such as junk food. The game represents the process of working and going down a healthy path. You play as Alex, a young girl hoping to get on the healthy track and get in shape. Your coach and personal trainer, Coach Grooves, helps train you so you may meet your goal.

The game starts out easy and gradually grows harder as you go along, just like any other training. You must start off simple and work your way up as your muscles grow acquainted with the progress. This represents a realistic training process by going from easy to difficult gradually throughout the courses. In the last course, you must avoid temptations such as junk foods and negative peer pressure in order to reach your goal. This represents that, through the process, people and junk food will get in your way. But, if you try and are willing, you'll be able to avoid these temptations and carry on. In the game, Coach Grooves represents positive peer pressure. He does no more than guide you, but the only thing one needs in order to get on a healthy track is positive reinforcement. Which Coach Grooves supplies, along with advice and warnings, throughout the game. The challenge of the need for enegry is also a realistic representation, and acts as a reminder that one must eat food to gain enegry when needed before or after workouts, or they are doing more harm than good. But the snacks and food you eat to keep you enegrized have to be healthy foods, since healthier foods will assist you with keeping enegrized more than junk food would.

The over all message of the game is that eating healthy and exercising is not an easy thing to do, especially when other temptations get in the way. But with dedication, positive reinforcement, and determination you will be able to past the obstacles you will face during the beginning steps of a healthy life-styles and reek benefits from it (such as being happier, healthier, and having a higher life expectancy.)

What is the importance of excercise and healthy eating?

Excercise is crucial because it builds endurance, strength, and stamina, reduces the risk for obesity and many diseases such as diabetes and reduces risks of heart disease and high blood pressure that may shorten ones lifespan. It increases enegry as well as benefits ones mental state by boosting ones confidence with the clear image of a healthy body. Through physical activity you are able to burn off calories you have built up during the day as well as helps build up your metabolism. Cardiovasculor excercise helps strengthens the heart and the lungs. It is suggested that you work 30-60 minutes five days a week in order to maintain a healthy life. Strength training helps builds your metabolism and muscles as well as burns calories. It is suggested that you have both cardiovascular and strength training in order to be well balanced.

When excercising you want to be sure to remain hydrated by drinking water.

  Why is Water so important?
Water is basically a nutrient that your body needs in liquid form. It is essential to replace large amounts of water lost during the day, especially when burning a lot off at once, as you would do during excercising. When you output more water than you intake, you can become dehydrated. Once dehydrated you may lose your sense, feel light headed, not have enough enegry, and could even pass out or experience a number of other health risks.

Drinking water helps maintain the balance of body fluids, helps control calories, helps enegrize muscles, keeps skin looking good, helps your kidneys, and maintain normal bowel function.

Liquid you put into your body is not the only importance substance you need, what you eat is also important.

What type of food should I eat?

The photo above is a food prymid, is shows what foods you should consume during the average day. Wheat and grains are at the bottom of the prymid, highlighting that you should eat more servings of things such as bread, cereal, rice and pasta, and sweets, greasy, and oily food are at the top. Indicating that you should eat them sparingly.

Why is eating things such as grains and fruit so important?

Grains are important because they are an avid source of many nutrients. Consuming healthy grains can reduce the risk of heart disease, reduce constipation, and help with weight management along with many other things. Whole grains are sources of magnesium and selenum. Magnesium is used to help build bones and releasing enegry from muscles, and selenium helps stregthen the immune system. Grains are also a source of vitamin B, which are essential for a healthy nervous system.

Fruits are also a good source of nutrients for your body. It gives you enegry to keep you enegrized throughout your daily life with a fraction of the calories. Fruits are high in fiber, antioxidents, nutrients, and reduce risk of obesity. Also, as a plus there are a variety of different fruit you can chose from, that each have their own unique benefits and flavors.

Keep these facts in mind when deciding whether or not you want to go on a jog in the morning, or what food you want to eat for lunch. With a little sacrafice and work, you can be healthier and happier, and live an active life style!

This game is intended for anyone willing to play! Especially those that want to get on a track to a healthy life style!
