Nutrition Expedition

By:

Story: Nutrition Expedition is a game that is made to show people all of the sides of nutrition and how they coexist. In the game, you play a young teen named Jordan. Jordan is overweight and wants to be healthier to lose weight. So, Jordan goes to a health camp to learn about nutrition. Along the way, Jordan is taught many lessons about maintaining a healthy diet and having proper exercise habits.

Objective: Your objective as a player is to make sure Jordan makes the right decisions and avoids the enemies in his path. Keep Jordan safe and healthy! :)

Audience: Nutrition Expedition is a game that is made to suit all ages.

Healthy Lesson: There are three different parts of our lesson that all tie together. Our first lesson is about healthy eating. Healthy eating habits are a necessity for having an overall successful life. Your diet can affect many different parts of your life. It can affect how much physical activity you can do, it can affect your ability to learn, your mood, and so much more. We reccommend eating lots of fruits and vegetables!

The second lesson in our game is about the importace of exercise and good exercising habits. Being active, as I'm sure you know, if very important. Exercising is part of a healthy lifestyle because it has many benefits. Some of these benefits are strengthening your cardiovascular system, extending the length of your life, and it can keep you fit. Some examples of exercise are: running, biking, soccer, basketball, volleyball, tennis, yoga, swimming, and football. Of course anything that is keeping you active is exercise, so just do what you find the most fun!

Our third and final lesson is about eating disorders. We talk about the three main eating disorders: binge eating, anorexia, and bulimia. Eating disorders are what a lot of people turn to when they are depressed or feel the need to lose weight. This is the most unhealthy and dangerous way to lose weight. Binge eating is an eating disorder in which a person excessively overeats. Anorexia is the opposite of binge eating, it is an eating disorder in which a person abstains from eating or  undereats. Bulimia is like binge eating, however the person switches from periods of excessive eating to periods of purging the food. Overall, eating disorders are things to stay far far away from. We wanted to spread awareness so that our players can be safer and healthier.
