Conservation

In an effort to conserve paper, teachers were given a limited amount of paper to use during the year. If copies needed to be made, teachers had to take their own paper to the copy machines, which made people more consciencious of how much paper they were using and more careful about not making mistakes and wasting paper. Each grade level was given four boxes of paper per semester, and with this new system, much less paper was used.
Water dripping from faucets was wasting quite a bit of water at our school, so students and teachers posted signs near water faucets that don't turn off by themselves. Also, in an effort to conserve energy, small refrigerators that had previously been allowed for teachers to have in the classroom, were not this year. Only one lamp in each classroom is allowed, and lights are turned off when not in use, as a rule.
