Jump Rope for Heart
By:
Jump Rope for Heart is a program that is designed to raise heart disease awareness. JRFH is sponsored by the American Heart Asscociation and is run through many schools across the country. Hutsell participated in JRFH this year and our students were very successful. For two weeks we practiced jump rope skills involving single jump rope tricks, double jump rope tricks, long rope tricks, partner tricks, and double dutch. Then, on the day of the event, students were able to participate in many jump rope trick stations and other stations that involved jumping such as using saturn balls, agility ladders, and hopscotch. We also collected money for a donation for the AHA and ended up donating over $1600 which was more than triple what we earned last year. We helped motivate the students by offering a glow in the dark game day if they surpassed $1000 and we achieved our goal.
