Recycle Bowl Competition

Our school chose to compete in this competition sponsered by Nestle Water.  This is a friendly competition to help our school embrace recycling.  This should increase our recyclig rate. The state champion will win $1,000 based on the most recycled material per person per school. The competition is designed to be super easy!  You check your recycling dumpster on pickup day and observe how full it is.  You record the number and convert how full the dumpster is to tonage.  We have a simple spread sheet to to the calculations prepared for by Keep America Beautiful.  

The competion runs from Oct. 28th to Nov. 15th.  It is just based on items recycled at the school, not community.

Our school's final total was 6.5 dumpsters fill calculated by the coversion factor of 2116.72 equaled a total LBS of Recycled Material of 13758.68

The winner will be announced Feb. 10th 2014.
