Re: 5210 Let’s Go! Date: 10-17-13
The Schuylerville Green Ribbon School committee and Cornell Cooperative Extension are excited to promote the 5210 Challenge. We’re asking that you give each child in your classroom a 5210 Challenge to take home this week. The back side has a letter to parents explaining the 5210 message and the challenge.
Please note that the letter instructs parents to return the 5210 Challenge to their child’s teacher no later than Friday, November 22. Make sure the student’s name is on the challenge and place them in the Green Ribbon Schools Folder.
Thank you for helping to encourage the healthy habits promoted by the 5210 message.

this letter.
Win Prizes: For each week the challenge is completed (4 maximum) your child’s name will be entered into a drawing for some great prizes. For a bonus week bring the 5210 Challenge with the first week completed to
the PEP Health Fair Cornell Cooperative Extension exhibit table on Friday, October 25. While you’re there

Start tracking now! Hand the 5210 Challenge in to your child’s teacher by Friday, November 22. One week completed= one chance to win. Four weeks completed = 4 chances to win.
The Schuylerville Green Ribbon School Project will be promoting these messages throughout the year and giving students opportunities for healthy eating and physical activity so they can reach these goals. For information about the

RESULTS OF CHALLENGE:
The Challenge had over 100 paricipants. We gave out health-related prizes (such as reuseable water bottles) to over 25 students. We were pleased with the results given it was the first year. Going forward, we will modify the plan and ask students to monitor their habits for 1-2 weeks rather than a month.
