Green Meadows Farm 2014
The first grade students of Ascension Catholic School enjoyed a day a Green Meadows Farm on April 7, 2014. They were able to observe and appreciate many examples of God's awesome creations as they moved around the farm learning about a variety of animals that live there. Students were able to see, hear, touch, and smell the animals living on the farm. Students had the opportunity to feed goats, pet sheep, ride a horse, milk a cow, catch chickens, hold ducklings, and see peacocks, pigs, ostriches, IIama, a zorse and a yak. It was a wonderful sensory experience for all! the trip to the farm helped students answer questions they had and offered opportunities to make many connections to our learning throughout the year about the structure and function of living things. In the days following the field trip, students used their first grade writing and grammar skills to write narratives about their experiences and illustrate their observations of the trip to Green Meadows Farm.
