Recycle Training

At the begining of the year, the PTA Environmental Committee held a recycling training for our youngest students in Kindergarten and 1st grade. They were taught about our lunchtime recycling program called "We CAN Recycle!" Each table in the cafeteria has a upcycled can on it and the students place their recycled materials in the can after lunch. One student then takes the recycling to the Recycle Station where the recyclables are sorted. The recycling divisions in the cafeteria are as follows:

- Drink pouches

- Go Go Squeeze pouches

- Cheese wrappers

- Granola bar wrappers

- Lunch kits (i.e. lunchables)

- Regular recycling: plastic, paper, aluminum

Except for the regular recycling, all other recyclables earn money for the school through the recycling programs offered by a company specializing in hard to recycle materials, Terracycle.
