Name: Green Up the Gardens

Purpose: Our plan was to enhance the Justin Elementary gardens all year long!  Students, teachers, and parents enhanced the gardens by clearing out overgrown weeds, painting wood flower beds, planting trees, and planting herbs, vegetables, and other native Texas drought-tolerant plants in the beds.

Participants: After school Green Team members - grade K-5

Budget:

$350 was donated by PTA for the purchase of trees. 

$400 was donated by DonorsChoose.org for purchase of seeds and planting materials. 

$100 was donated by school budget for purchase of paint.

We are challenging families to remember our school garden over the summer too!  We need their help to keep everything GREEN during the summer heat.
