Healthivores - Battling HIV

This game is about a woman who contracts HIV after attending a rather wild party. After feeling unwell, she visits the doctor's office, and is given two nanobot-containing injections. The first is to identify the disease, and the second to destroy what has now been identified as HIV. You play as both the woman and the nanobots. The overall objective of this game is to destroy the HIV virus, and, in turn, save the woman. We hope that today's teenagers will play this game and grow in knowledge, while being entertained.

HIV is a very developed and complex disease that does its job in a remarkably efficient manner. It attacks blood cells, and forces those blood cells to work against the body, as well as produce more of the virus. Of course, HIV itself is not deadly. However, it leaves the immune system weak and vulnerable to many potentially fatal infections. This disease can be prevented through the practice of safe sexual intercourse, and careful clean-up of bodily fluids.

In the process of creating this game, we, the creators, as well as the educators, tried to outline the causes and the effects of HIV. This is a very serious and dangerous disease, and we by no means intended to undermine the disease or those who suffer from it. We hope that those who play this game are motivated to take steps against HIV, whether it be through charity, study, or action.
