Purpose: To compost materials from our lunchroom and school grounds. 

Participants: Green Team will contribute to saving compostible food scraps from the lunchroom on a daily basis and place scraps into the compost bin.  Leaves and various "greens" will be collected from the school grounds to add to the bin.   All 3rd grade classrooms will participate in regularly maintaining and turning compost bin. 

First students were educated on what composting is and why we should do it.  The liked the part about feeding worms! 

Finally we released the worms into our garden beds to keep doing good work in our soil. 

Cost: $99. Compost bin was purchased with PTA funds.
