Garden Work Day
Saturday, April 25th
9:00-12:00
We had two major projects to work on in our garden. When we had our Real School Garden Big Dig last year on May 3rd a perennial garden was put in along the sidewalk that led to the outdoor classroom. Many of the plants were doing so well, but they were starting to crowd each other, so we decided to enlarge our perennial garden. A big undertaking that meant a lot of weed pulling, but with a lot of help, we got it done.
Thanks to all the students, parents and teachers for digging in!
Coach Closner came ready to work! Ms. Southwick was so happy we had a sunny day to get some work done.
Mr. Bodden and a parent making some progress.
Ms. Barrett decided to dig in with her toes! She got a mud pack makeover for her feet.
The other project was to clear all of the nutsedge from our Earth science station. Getting all those roots is definitely tough.
Everyone had fun in the sun! Soon we will be able to enjoy a much larger perennial garden.
