5^th Grade Unit

Students studied the ecosystem located in the Negley garden.  We observed all the plants and animals living in an area, plus the environment that supports them.    Activities included in this unit are:  a. exploring the schoolyard study area, b. finding and observing spiders, c. discovering animal communities, and d. tracking ants.  Schoolyard ecology creates an excitement of discovery and a sense of stewardship toward living things.
