                                                                      5th Annual Eagle Pride 5k/1mile run

Our 5th annual Ascension Catholic School Eagle Pride 5K/1 mile run took place on Saturday, September 20, 2014. Our race participants included moms, dads, grandparents, students, teachers, pets, babies being pushed in strollers, and our principal. This year our fun and healthy event took place on our school campus and in a neighboring housing communtiy. Each participant (275) recieves a cool "Eagle Pride race t-shirt and race packet with valuable health information and coupons. An awards ceremony took place after the race with some awesome prizes such as free passes to local fitness gyms, free registration to upcoming races, and gift cards to local health food resturants.

This event could not happen without the help of Running Zone (set up course and time clocks), sponsors and involved school parents. The parents along with teacher volunteers were on hand to pass water to the racers and cheer them on.

Breakfast items donated by local businesses included bagels, fruits, and plenty of water. After the race treats such as frozen yogart and pizza were available. The weather was questionable as the sun came up but we were able to continue with the race with nothing more than a short drizzle.

Pre-registration took place the week of the race. Participants were able to pick up race packets Friday afternoon at Running Zone.

8:00 5K starts

9:15 1 mile race starts

9:45 Kid's run (7 years and under) free

Awards ceremony immediately following all races.
