with the photos taken from our event!

Fifth grade students received donations of native plants and learned how native plants conserve soil and water.  (Some non-native plants were also donated, so in order not to offend anyone, all plants were used - it will be interesting to see how those plants do compaired to the native plants!)

Quote from Mrs. Bass, 5th grade teacher - "We ended up with 80 percent native but students brought the plants so we planted them all...  The vegtables and herbs are ones I have had success with in my own organic garden.  We used cow poo and tried to plant organically also. By planting both flower beds and vegetable gardens the students created a beautiful area, a renewable resource and learned about Texas plant adaptations."
