Each class spent time in our garden creating nature journals throughout the year. This encouraged classes to get outside and made creative learning more interactive. Each grade level created journals that were age appropriate. For example: each kindergarten class shared a journal where they drew pictures and words together while fourth graders kept individual journals and were encouraged to write more descriptively. The journals (and the time outside!) were an ongoing project throughout the year.
