Here at Buell we are dedicated in ELA classes to researching alternative methods in conserving energy through sustainability. We are committed to helping our community by creating solutions to help those citizens who don’t have air conditioners. This project was started because too much money is going into the electricity bills. This is a demonstration to see how much electricity will be used without using standard air conditioning. We started looking at the pricing for the equipment to build our solar powered air conditioners made from ice chests. Then we decided to design our solar powered air conditioners. We then cut a large hole in the ice chest for a fan to blow air into the ice chestAnd cut holes for PVC pipes to allow air to flow out. The ice chest, when ready will be able to cool down a rooms temperature to between 40 to 60 degrees.
