Ms. Thompson's organic garden
By:
Objective;
Learn about GMO's. Students learned the GMO's are genetically modified organisms and that they are very prevalent in our nation's food supply. Students realized how important eating organic, non-gmo labeled food is for proper nutrition. Students also learned about plant based diets. That the poor diets play a major role and how pharmaceutical companies make their money.
Students planted non gmo USDA certified seeds and heirloom seeds. We had a garden of yellow squash, pumpkin, green beans, cucumber, lemon cucumber, spagehtti squash, tomatoe, roma tomatoe, cilantro, basil,dill mint, and vadelia onion. Students got to experience how these seeds sprouted and grew and still growing.
