Walking Wednesday 2010-2011

Doss Elementary Walking Wednesday officially kicked off the first Wednesday of October.  Commemorating International Walk to School Month, Doss families were encouraged to organize neighborhood groups to walk or ride bikes together, or carpool to school.  

The Doss Green Team objective for Walking Wednesday is twofold; first, by getting more kids to walk/ride bikes or carpool to school, we can reduce the amount of car emission produced when idling during drop-off in the mornings. 

The Doss Green Team was encouraged by the number of families who participated.  At the end of October, the first Wednesday of each month became a designated Walking Wednesday.  

Walking Wednesday culminated during Earth Day Week of April 18, 2011
