May 16th Monitoring

By:

Students noted that recent rains have benefitted the martin population.

Nests have been fortified with new mud. Feeding activity increased over retention pond. Birds were scooping water on the fly.

One student reported 5 hatchlings and 6 eggs in one nest.

Students observed sparrow activity in just one nesting box and removed the partially built nest.
