ECO Club/Recycling Water bottles

In 2011, a student council driven recycling program was started by Hutsell students.  An ECO Club was created with art teacher, Ashley Bullard as their sponsor.  Fifth grade students applied to become members of the ECO Club.  The ECO Club started a water bottle recycling program in partnership with Green Arrow Recycling in Katy. Hutsell is able to recycle seven to eight pounds of plastic water bottles per week.

In addition to the water bottle recycling, Hutsell also has cartridge recycling collection boxes in every pod and by the front door. Students, teachers, volunteers and even local businesses donate their used printer cartridges.  When the boxes fill up, we call Cartridge World and their rep comes out to pick them up.
