Single Stream Recycling

In the past, Redeemer students have sorted recyclables, but boy, was it hard!  We're a large campus and keeping up with storage for plastic, aluminum, glass, steel, paper and cardboard took some of the fun out of helping our planet.  But our wonderful business manager made some phone calls and set us up with SINGLE-STREAM RECYCLING! 

Hurrah, we pick-up, dump, and they cart it all away.  Can't ask for anything more!

Students painted recycle bins, quizzed teachers about their classroom's recycle needs, constructed a campus 'can' map and developed collection procedures. The Junior National Honors Society students joined us EcoHeroes on recycle pick-up days. And this year, we found that we've reduced Redeemer's contributions to the landfill by 1/3!
