A Watershed Adventure

Students learned the importance which oaks played in our community long ago and the importance to keep the trees in our community. Students planted acorns they had gathered from our own oak tree beside our classroom, and we watered them before we left. Students learned about the care and respect we need to have for all the plants and trees in our community. We learned that in order to keep our wildlife abundant and happy, we need to provide places for them to dwell. The wetlands in the meadow provide a necessary filtration for our water system as it winds its way to the ocean.
