Morning Fitness Fires Students Up!

Students often seem as though they can not move into their day each morning until we have completed our morning exercises. As a class I would say 97% of the students loof forward to and relish their opportunities to go for a morning run, do sit ups, push-ups, jump rope or swirl their hula hoops. All students have made progress this year on what they are able to do in both their strength and fitness. Students see talents they did had not previously realized. One student, who struggles academically told me recently she that she hopes to run cross country and track in middle school, and other students tell me they aspire to play intramural sports as well as sports in their high schools. They have had an opportunity to see that fitness is good for their health and a lot of fun too.
