KinderGator Garden
By:
The kindergarten and PPCD classes, along with parent volunteers, created an outdoor garden area in order to study and learn about plants, fruit, and vegetables. The KinderGators are super excited right now because their fruit trees have buds on them and made it through the winter! These young scholars have a chance to have hands on, concrete science experiences by participating in activities that reinforce the science objectives for kindergarten. They are learning the different parts of a system and how to classify living and nonliving things in the garden. Along with understanding plant and animal life cycles, the KinderGators will learn to name the four seasons and name and describe different types of weather. The scholars have learned about the butterfly life cycle and will release some butterflies in the garden along with participating in a “worm” release and a ladybug release.
