Cartridges for Kids & printer ink

Our school participates in the program Cartridges for Kids.  We celebrate "Texas Recycles Day" on November 15 and Earth Day around April 22 by organizing a collection drive for used laptops, cell phones, and ink cartridges.  Kids help to box up the items, and CFK pays the school for the items we send in.  CFK does not accept small ink cartridges, so we recycle these at Office Depot; the credit from the recycled products helps purchase new printer toners and paper.

The funds earned last year help purchase 20 new recycling bins for the classrooms plus several meters to conduct an energy audit.
