Girl Scout Compost Bin -- Bronze Award Project for

Girl Scout Troop #27131 set up a wire compost bin in the school yard near the garden.  The girls used layers of brown leaves, green grass clippings, dirt, and kitchen waste.  Girls learned which kinds of kitchen waste can be used in the compost bin. 

For the troop Bronze Award project, the Girl Scouts decided to invite the school community to donate compost friendly waste at a special event for Earth Day so that the girls can educate others how to compost.
