Classroom Plant Activity

Our Mitchell gardeners enjoy seeing how a plant begins with a tiny little seed. The quickly learn seeds come in a variety of shapes and sizes that grow into delicious food in our vegetable beds. Our littlest gardeners, the kindergarten students, practice planting seeds with beans. It fits easily into their hands and can be placed without too much struggle between damp sheets of paper towels or pushed into soft soil. In less than two weeks, their plant begins to emerge and the response is pure joy!
