How Much Energy? (Watts)

The Environmental Leadership students are working in teams to audit the energy usage in the classrooms, hallway, restrooms, and office areas.  Before beginning the audit, they learned how to measure with a watt meter and also to look at the electronics labels.  They learned that appliances producing heat, such as hair dryers, use a LOT of energy.  Computers use energy when plugged in, even when they are turned off!  The students are also learning to calculate the cost of energy usage.
