The Schuylerville School District GreenFiber Recycling Program:

The GRS team at Schuylerville identified the need for a consistent and comprehensive paper recycling program throughout the district.  The Elementary School had a viable program, yet the Jr./Sr. High School's program had lapsed over the years.  Team members met with the administrators, staff and teachers to revive the defunct program.  Then recycling bins were placed in all classrooms, a pick-up schedule was determined, a launch plan was put into action and the vendor was contacted.

It is important to note that 2 classes from the current Jr./Sr. High School have taken on the responsibility of collecting the recycling bins.  Additionally, next years' Middle School students are planning a student sponsored club, "GreenFiber Earth Patrol", to manage environmental initiatives.  Student involvement is key to the success of GRS projects and it reinforces recycling and how important it is to conserve the Earth's natural resources.

Since 2000, GreenFiber has diverted nearly 3 million tons of recycled paper from landfills, saving 8 million cubic yards of space.

How The GreenFiber Recycling Program Works:

 1.  Free recycling bin - GreenFiber supplies your organization with a recycling bin.

 2.  Bins serviced as often as needed - The bins are serviced weekly, biweekly or monthly.

 3.  Give back to your community -Unlike other recyclers or waste haulers, GreenFiber does not charge for our services. In fact, we contribute funds to specific community programs for the paper they recycle.

 4. Reduces your costs - Your organization reduces its waste disposal costs while helping to conserve natural resources and raise funds.
