By:

The Red Oak High School FFA organized two agriculture education days
this year.  Students participating included all fourth graders from
Shields Elementary and all first graders from Wooden Elementary.  There
were nine stations set up for the kids to enjoy and learn including live
interaction with animals and hands on experiences with corn and other grain
products.  Stations included cotton gin, living necklace, sheep and goats,
swine, poultry, tractors, corn, dairy, and beef cattle.  Students were taught
about harvesting (animals and grain), by products, safety, breeds and types and
many other aspects of agriculture.
