Community Recycling Center
By:
Our PTA collects hard-to-recycle items yearround in our Community Recycling Center. These ongoing recycling efforts keeps numerous items, such as printer cartridges, corks, and cell phones, from reaching landfills. Here is what we collected this year:
Juice pouches (not juice boxes)
Plastic gift cards and other “wallet waste”
Cell Phones
Ink Cartridges for Printers
Toothbrushes, toothpaste tubes, plastic toothbrush packaging
Candy Wrappers
Cookie Wrappers & packaging
Kashi Product packaging
Elmer Glue & glue sticks packaging
Corks
Used battery disposal, including Alkaline, Nickel/Cadmium (NiCad), Rechargable, Watch, Camera, Cell Phone, Laptop, and other similar batteries.
To date we have collected for recycling more than 4,200 Capri Sun juice pouches and 252 Kashi product boxes, 218 coffee bags, 23 pounds or roughly 2,300 plastic gift cards and other wallet waste. We have collected 100 pounds of batteries for hazardous waste disposal. We track our progress on our green efforts on our website:
